Portobello Rd Markets

Portobello Rd, is well known for its Saturday market, so we caught the tube to Nottinghill Gate station to walk the length of the markets and possibly buy something if it caught our eye.

This is more commercial than it used to be in the past apparently, but it was enjoyable nevertheless. Not the best of days being extremely windy, but the rain stayed away. There are many varieties of markets from clothes, art, jewelry, plants, second hand books, vinyl (records that is). The market extends for a couple of kilometres I would think. Had a great time just soaking up the atmosphere.

The tube is very easy to get around on, we are using the Oyster Card, which is a prepaid card that you can use for several forms of transport, as with most cities. Why the hell Sydney cannot get this in place is beyond me, it is not that hard.

After getting back to Wimbledon we decided not to venture to far for dinner and went to a great local Thai restaurant 5 minutes walk from Ben's apartment. Very good Thai cuisine and service.
